A gathering point for the Columbia HCI community including Barnard College, Teachers College, and CUMC.
The weekly HCI seminar is the primary gathering point for the HCI community at Columbia University, including Barnard College, Teachers College, and the Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC). The seminar features talks from diverse leading perspectives in HCI, presented by members of the HCI community and by visiting researchers and practitioners. The seminar covers a diverse range of topics, including design, accessibility, computational interaction, mixed reality, bioinformatics, intelligent agents, ubiquitous computing, HCI systems and applications, as well as studies of emerging technologies in healthcare, creativity, and productivity contexts. All members of the HCI/NLP/CS community are welcome and encouraged to attend the weekly HCI seminar.

If you are interested in hosting a speaker or presenting at the HCI seminar, please get in touch with the Columbia HCI group organizers. In Fall 2024, the seminars take place on Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m. on the Columbia University Morningside campus and on Zoom, beginning with time for socializing, followed by a 40-50 minute talk and a Q&A session.
